Meet the Author

asian american therapist and author that writes bilingual children's books for emotional development

Hello! I'm Anna, and I am a child of immigrants. My parents came from mainland China and I grew up in a bilingual household. It wasn’t fun at the time, but I am now thankful for my mother’s insistence on weekend Mandarin classes! All throughout my childhood I felt struck by the emotional barriers I found within the Asian community. My friends and I struggled to communicate our feelings to one another, and we certainly had little idea how to communicate our deepest feelings to our parents or other adults.

In college, I spent time researching Asian American mental health and discovered sobering statistics about our difficulty accessing mental health resources and our disproportionately large depression and suicide rates. I dedicated myself to breaking down the stigma surrounding mental health. This commitment led me to pursue my Masters and PhD in Clinical Psychology, where I completed an internship working with AAPI clients and conducting bilingual therapy sessions. I now have a full time private practice in Southern California, and I specialize in working with Asian Americans and other minority groups. I love the clinical work that I do, and the privilege of hearing people’s stories and walking with them through the highs and lows of their lives.

When I became a mother, I spent hours searching for bilingual books that would also talk about feelings. Unable to find what I needed for my daughter, my husband and I decided to create our own! We started The Mindful Peach Co. with the mission of offering quality bilingual children's books that focus on emotional well-being.

Join me in empowering Asian American families to embrace their emotions and nurture closer relationships through storytelling.

Meet the Operations

operations manager that supports an asian american chinese author that writes bilingual children's books

Hey! I’m Victor. I am a second generation Taiwanese American who was raised in the American midwest. Growing up, I felt caught between the two cultures of east and west. The tension of not really belonging in one or the other was the cause of many late night conversations.

Now as a father, I want to provide space for my children to be able to explore and celebrate being Asian American.

I get the privilege of being the other half of The Mindful Peach. My background in creative arts, entrepreneurship, and project management helps me manage the business operations. I am excited to support my partner in this amazing mission to provide resources for Asian American families to develop emotionally healthy relationships.
